The theme of the conference is the outreach work that schools do in collaboration with key partners such as ITT providers, their local authorities and other schools. The strapline “Leading the Way in School-based Professional Development” reflects the growing importance given to the development of Training Schools’ capacity to effect school improvement at the classroom level.
The main aims of the conference are:
· To set the work of Training Schools in a national and international context, especially the context of the recent McKinsey report on what makes for an effective national education system, and that of the work of the TDA
· To give an opportunity for Training Schools to disseminate their work
· To support the transfer of Training Schools’ knowledge in the area of professional development
· To encourage all TS to expand their influence and leadership role in the field of professional development
· To launch the south-east regional TS website as a vehicle for showcasing the work of the region’s Training Schools
